Islamabad: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore confirmed on Saturday provisional bail against arrest it had earlier granted to Shahbaz Sharif, president of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-N party, his lawyer said.
The lawyer, Aftab Bajwa, said the court fixed December 18 for proceedings in a case in which the younger brother of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is facing criminal charges.
Shahbaz is accused of having ordered as chief minister of Punjab province in 1997 a police raid in which five people were killed in Lahore. The case was registered in 2001 while he was in exile.
