Peshawar: At least 25 people are reported dead after a suicide bomber blew himself up at a meeting of tribal elders in north-western Pakistan, according to an army spokesman.
The attack took place in the town of Darra Adam Khel, south of Peshawar.
According to private television network Aaj, at least 25 people were killed and 20 injured. Other television channels have also reported many casualties.
A Darra Adam Khel resident near the site of the attack said thousands of people from five tribes had gathered. The meeting was organised by local tribal eleders to discuss peace in the region.
