Islamabad: At least 20 people are feared dead in a missile attack near the Afghan border that targeted the house of a suspected militant leader, according to state television.
According to the report, seven missiles landed in the tribal area of South Waziristan.
It is not clear where the missiles originated, although US forces based in Afghanistan have previously launched attacks inside Pakistan.
The Pakistani military said five or six explosions were heard near Wana, the main town in South Waziristan, but it could not confirm the cause.
The military has confirmed there are casualties, but they said it was not clear how many had died.
