Sharjah: An Air Arabia flight bound to the Jordanian capital Amman on Wednesday returned to Sharjah due to a technical problem after about an hour into the air.
The flight G9 335 took off from Sharjah International Airport at 1.30pm and was carrying more than 150 passengers.
The A320 plane “returned without incident shortly after take-off due to a technical error,” the Sharjah-based low-fare airline said in a statement sent to Gulf News.
“Following the flight's return and in line with global best practice safety standards, all passengers were disembarked from the aircraft in advance for a regular check,” it added.
The passangers were transeferred to another alternative flight that took off later for Amman.
Air Arabia said it “regrets any inconvenience caused to its passengers and assures the safety of its customers and aircraft remains the company's highest priority.”
