Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), the owner-operator of Al Ain International Airport (AAN), has welcomed its latest airline to operate services from the emirate in the form of Toumai Air Tchad.
The national carrier of Chad, the North African airline operating from its main home base of N'Djamena International Airport will operate in conjunction with Cargolux a weekly service from Al Ain to N'Djamena.
Initially operating up to two flights per week from Al Ain International Airport, Toumaï Air Tchad will also become the second cargo airline to start operations from Abu Dhabi's second major airport in 2008.
Abu Dhabi and Al Ain's economic growth and continued infrastructural developments have contributed to the success of the airports as the number of cargo and airline operators continue to grow.
Al Ain International airport's reputation as a cargo hub, in particular, is clearly growing as Mohammed Al Bulooki, Vice President of Airline Marketing and Aeronautical Revenue for ADAC, explains: "The strategic location of Al Ain International Airport makes it a natural hub for freighter companies flying into the UAE; it also acts as a desirable short and long-haul hub for regional or international freight."
Toumaï Air Tchad becomes the 41st airline to operate from Abu Dhabi airports.
