Neha Dhupia looks a million dollars on screen and is always groomed to the tip of her toes. e+ caught up with her to find out what her definition of style is.
What do you like to wear?
There is nothing like wearing a comfortable top with jeans. I like wearing Diesel and Miss Sixty jeans as their fits suit me. Usually, when I arrive on the sets, I'm in track pants before I change into what the producer or the designer wants me to wear for the scene.
What clothes do you prefer to wear for formal occasions or night parties?
Saris or salwar kameez are my favourite ensemble. For evening parties, I prefer to stick to Western clothes as they are easier to handle.
What's your favourite fabric and colour?
I love white as it symbolises purity and eternity. It never looks out of place either. The fabric that suits my skin is linen.
What's your favourite clothing brand?
I do not patronise any particular brand. I wear anything that makes me feel comfortable. I'm not a sucker for brands. I do have a fascination for sunglasses though. I also like perfumes, my favourite being Clinic Happy.
What is your favourite handbag and what do you carry in it?
I don't like carrying handbags. However, my favourite one is the Fendi handbag that I recently purchased. To be honest, I like it so much that I do not carry it anywhere so that it does not get spoilt (giggles). My handbag usually contains my mobile, a make-up kit and my house keys.
What do you do about make-up when you're on set and off set?
I never wear make-up when I am not shooting. When I am shooting, I start make-up from my eyes as I like to highlight them. I make sure to conceal my nose while doing my make-up. My favourite make-up kit is Mac and Bobby Brown. I prefer pink shades as they suit my face.
What's your hair care routine and what products do you use?
My hair care routine comprises shampooing, conditioning, washing and drying. I keep changing my shampoo and conditioners. My favourites are Tigi and Paul Mitchell.
Do you like streaking your hair and if so, which stylist usually does it?
I hate hair streaks. I got it done once and never want to do it again. I am born with natural white streaks (shows it to us proudly). You can see these streaks in my films, especially Chup Chup Ke. Savio is my favourite hair stylist.
Who are your personal fashion advisors and style critics?
My close friends and family are my best fashion advisors as they are honest with their views. According to my family and friends, I look best in comfortable casuals with my hair loose.
