Riyadh: More than 2,000 policemen have been assigned near Makkah to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims, said a Saudi security source.
Hundreds of surveillance cameras have been installed near the mosque and its surrounding areas to ensure the safety of pilgrims, said the source.
More than 850 students from the Saudi military colleges have been also been posted to manage pilgrims, said Major General Yousuf Mattar, commander of security forces of Makkah area.
