Riyadh: Seven terrorists have admitted to being involved in planning terrorist attacks in the Kingdom.

The seven, four Saudis, an Egyptian and two from Chad said that they have been also planning to storm a central prison in Jeddah to free terrorists.

The Saudi official state television broadcasted their confessions on Tuesday evening.

Khalid Al Farraj, Olayan Al Subaihi, Amer Al Saedi and Ziyad Suaifan, all Saudis, and Mohammad Fat'hi Al Sayed, an Egyptian, and Khalid Taher and Ali Omar from Chad, were shown on TV. They described how the leader of the so-called "the legal cell" had convinced them to declare that the Saudi government is a 'non-believer.' They also spoke about their plans to storm Al Ruwais central jail in Jeddah.

The militants have established what was called "Al-Khadediya Apartment" in Makkah.

The Saudi security forces stormed the apartment on June 12, 2003.

Twelve suspects were arrested at the time and five were killed in the exchange of fire with the security men.

The terrorists pointed out that wooing militants to "Al Khadediya Apartment" was done under the cover of recruiting them for Jihad in Iraq. Later they were informed that they will get training to carry out attacks inside the Kingdom.

Last April the Saudi authorities said they had foiled fresh plots at an advanced stage.

The authorities noted that the militants have begun training on the use of weapons, and some were sent to other countries to take aviation classes for preparation to use them to carry out terrorist operations in the kingdom.
