Dubai: Eurocon Alubond won the Dulsco Corporate Cricket Tournament defeating ETA Ascon by five wickets in the final played under floodlights at Zabeel Park in Dubai.
Electing to bat first, ETA Ascon were all out for 144 in the last over and Eurocon Alubond reached the target in the 17th over losing five wickets.
The 20-over tournament for corporate teams was organised by Dulsco Sports Club in association with the Dubai Municipality and played under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.
ETA Ascon started their innings badly losing two wickets with only four runs on the board. Nasir was the most successful bowler for Eurocon Alubond claiming three wickets for 21. Chasing a target of 145, Eurocon reached the target with three overs to spare.
Mohammad Azam, who claimed 11 wickets, was declared the best bowler of the tournament. Shafqat Ali of ETA Ascon was adjudged the best player of the tournament for his 237 runs and 10 wickets while Dulsco's Mukhtar was named the best batsmen for his 407 runs (including one century) and six wickets.
