Dubai: Arab Unity School skipper Adil Khalil cracked 85 runs to help his team win the Green Valley Under-15 inter-school cricket tournament conducted by the Dubai Cricket Council.
Put into bat, Dubai Modern High School put up a challenging 181 runs in 25 overs. Skipper Kailash Chotalia hit 78 off 68 balls with five boundaries.
Arab Unity cruised to the target in 21.2 overs, mainly due to a great opening partnership between Khalil and Ali Owais who put on 107 runs before being separated.
They laid the platform for the win with skipper Adil Khalil leading from the front with an aggressive batting display, clouting ten boundaries and a big six in his 63-ball knock.
Owais was the perfect foil as he played attacking cricket and scored a rapid knock of 48 runs in 35 balls in which he hit six fours and a six before going out to Gurjyot Singh.
Anwar Ul Haq then partnered Khalil making a quick 37 runs not out from 21 balls with two boundaries and a six.
