Dubai: The Desert Cubs beat Gulf Agency Dolphins 5-3 in the open football tournament that forms part of the Dubai Summer Surprises Sportzone events.
Keith Savio opened the scoring for Desert Cubs only to see Thiago Luz equalise for the Dolphins.
Rasphal Singh then put the Dolphins in the lead but it was shortlived as Rajesh equalised.
The Cubs added two quick goals with Keith scoring his second and Michael making it 4-2.
Sobin made it safe for the Cubs and Godwin Lasardo reduced the margin for the Dolphins.
The tournament was held at the Dulsco Village Events Arena as part of the Sportzone events organised by Gulf International Promotions.
In the other games in the tournament, the Knights humbled Vanxim Divar 6-5, while Al Zuari hit double figures against a hapless Chipmunks.
Jason Braganza, Avalon Dalgado, Wilton Goes and Shaun DeSouza were all on the scoring list as the Knights won 12-0.
Meanwhile, the Arabian Oasis outplayed Al Areez 10-5.
In the inter-hotel football, Coral Deira edged out Shangri-La Hotel 6-4.
The Royal Ascot Hotel hammered Le Meridien Mina Seyahi 'D' 11-1.
Habtoor Grand beat Dubai International Hotel with a 6-3 win.
Nakheel were big winners on the night with a 12-1 swamping of Dulsco in the inter-corporate football, while DP World easily overcame Nakheel 'A' 9-5.
In the ladies volleyball, Shangri-La Hotel defeated a stubborn Habtoor Grand Hotel 25-14, 25-23.
And in the inter-hotel volleyball, Le Meridien Al Aqah easily got past Fairmont Hotel 25-15, 25-19, Le Royal Meridien Hotel defeated Habtoor Grand Hotel 25-21, 25-19 and Jebel Ali Hotel beat Sheraton Jumeirah 25-18, 25-17.
