Dubai: Shabir Yacub and Marku Lihavaienenen returned a net 62.2 to take the Men's Division of the Outdoor Concepts Beefeater Barbeques title at Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Saturday.
In the Couples and Ladies Division Henk and Jo Schoeman had a convincing win with their gross 65, net 61.4. The pair carded a spectacular eight birdies and one single bogey at the par three 7th.
Meanwhile Tim Sephton shot 41 Stableford points to lead after the first of the nine Qualifying Rounds for the TNT Amateur Order of Merit Golf Series.
The leading 20 players and ties at the end of the Series qualifying for the TNT Amateur Order of Merit Golf Series Grand Final in May.
Sephton found himself in trouble early with two bogeys in his first four holes, however he recovered well with birdies on holes 13 and 16 for an outward nine of 20 points.
He managed two more birdies on his back nine to return with 21 points for a total of 41 stableford points in this 18 Hole Stableford event with full handicap allowance.
