Have you ever sat on your Facebook account and wondered why you address yourself in the third person view?

I know I have. Sometimes when I update my status, I no longer say how I feel, or what I’m doing, but rather I’m addressing a total stranger, who holds the same name as I, as to what I’m doing.

Does that sound too confusing for you? Well let’s see if Amna can break some of her mind-set complexity to bits and pieces.

Basically, my status will be addressed in the following format: Amna is about to lose her mind! Dear God, why can’t I just say: I’m losing my mind!

Using Facebook mainly makes us address ourselves in the third person, and honestly I don’t see what type of logic falls into that category of being logical. It rather seems insane and illogical!

As normal egocentric human beings, looking for our best welfare, we address ourselves as “I”, don’t I? Don’t you? Don’t we?

Maybe Facebook is too humble, but I think we should have the right to choose how to address ourselves in our status.

Don’t most of us like to shine and say “I”? Let Facebook helps us achieve that self-fulfillment of individuality!

Personally, I don’t always write in my status depending on what ‘Amna’ would presumably be doing or feeling. Sometimes I would write something like: Books are my addiction.

Other than the fact Facebook steals our personal and individual self, It also steals our sexuality! Oh, this ain’t a taboo topic. I promise.

Do you ever wonder when you don’t choose whether you’re a male or a female, why does your Facebook addresses you as ‘their’? Sometimes Facebook can be honestly brainless. So much for technology!

Facebook may be unintentionally offending those who rather not disclose their sex, in case the person he, she, or they are with two genders, without a gender, married couple..whatever.

All I have to say is that I’m disappointed with Facebook for working on stealing our identities, and taking our sense of individuality, in which, it takes away our right in expressing ourselves as we please, and as we desire.

Since I believe in individuality, I think that facebook should contribute in helping make you and me a unique individual of its community.

Please note, Amna is a crazy maniac, and her Facebook status are always and most likely about hate, anger, obsessions, and she needs to switch back to her other personality before she or I go even more Cuckoo!

Sometimes, I look back at my Facebook, and wonder who am I? Amna or me?

All I know is that Facebook stole my Damn identity, and I want it back!

I think the main purpose of addressing ourself in Facebook is for others to recognize who has changed their status with the least amount of headache, imagine if you opened your "home" and were faced with a column of "I ...." status messages, wouldn't it be crazy?
