Dubai: BenQ, the Taiwanese provider of networked digital lifestyle devices, will soon launch its new version of notebook computer 'Joybook Lite' in the Gulf, a top official of the company said.
"The new BenQ Joybook Lite is the new right fit product for the right users," said K.Y. Lee, chairman of BenQ Corporation.
"With its array of enhanced features, it will enable users to be connected anytime anywhere," Lee said.
Key features of Joybook Lite are Intel Atom processor, Windows XP and a built-in 3.5G module. The 'Joybook Lite' will be available in two models - an 8.9-inch version and 10-inch version with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
"As the face of businesses change, so does the tools. Worldwide, manufacturers are struggling to integrate PCs, mobile phones and television technology to create the ideal tool for hi-flying business executives. BenQ is launching one such tool that will change the business experience," Lee said.
"Our research wing is testing a new concept called MID (Mobile Internet Device), which will be the first of its kind to be launched in this Middle East market."
BenQ Group owns 12 companies. Its flagship company BenQ Corporation expects $2 billion (Dh7.34 billion) revenue this year, of which 6.5 per cent, or $115 million, is expected to come from the Middle East and African markets.
BenQ's line up of products include digital projectors, LCD monitors, LCD TVs, digital cameras, mobile phones, laptop PCs, storage devices, media and human interface devices such as mice and keyboards. 2007 revenues of BenQ Corporation exceeded $1.83 billion.
