Jakarta: Offices of former separatist rebels in Aceh, Indonesia, were set fire to by a mob of 100 people, killing four people, local police said Sunday.

The Aceh Transitional Commission buildings in the remote are of Atu Lintang were attacked by the crowd who also threw one person down a well.

Another person was seriously wounded and was being treated in hospital.

Officials are still investigating the reason and motivation behind the attack.

For 30 years, Aceh was embroiled in a strong conflict, which was only resolved by an agreement between opposition parties after the 2004 tsunami devastation.
