Bangkok: Thailand's People Power Party, which supports ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, said on Monday it had received enough support from small parties to form a coalition government.
"Our invitation has been accepted by some parties, giving us more than half of the seats in parliament to form a government," said secretary-general Surapong Suebwonglee.
The latest tally from the Election Commission has PPP with 232 seats and its arch rival, the Democrat Party, with 165 out of 480 in parliament.
